This last few weeks (October 21- November 2) Oilers fans were able to bid on one-of-a-kind Oilers memorabilia in the Rally Against Cancer Online Auction. Highlighted lots include Boys on the Bus alumni team signed items, an assortment of autographed game-used equipment and game-worn jerseys from Game Seven of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. The auction was closed on November 2nd at 8:00pm with staggered times and was reported to be a great success.
The organization alongside the Oilers responsible for this event was The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF). The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundationis dedicated to building strong and vibrant communities by contributing its resources and financial support to charitable organizations that serve the residents of Oil Country. The EOCF has worked to change lives in Oil Country through their support of a host of deserving organizations. The Foundation gives back in excess of $1 million annually to registered charities throughout Central and Northern Alberta who focus their activities on youth, education and health and wellness.
It hasnt yet been reported the numerical success of the event, but it is evident many fans took part of this event placing their bids throughout the past few weeks on a approximately 100 items.
